When you come we will start at a beautiful home-museum from the 18 century where I will tell you why this Hacienda has been so important in this community for the past 170 years. Then I will take you in to the nature through the coffee plantation and explain what makes Colombian Coffee so special where you will plant your own coffee tree. I will show you from scratch how to do it and as well how to harvest. Experience birdwatching while we walk along the coffee plantation with amazing views of the city and the mountains. After we seen all about coffee in the plantation we will get back to the Hacienda and enjoy a delicious homemade meal surrounded by family and friends. In this oportunity we do our own Coffee Farm Experience.We gonna take you to the montains behind bogota to the really local town of choachi. From there we'll drive a few minutes more untill we get to our organic coffee farm, there we'll meet local farmers and with them we have a traditional colombian breackfast, also we'll talk about what it means to be an organic coffee farm and the daily tasks of a farmer. Latter we take our cocos for pick coffee, we get inside the plantation and we learn about the coffee in a organic farm. We'll walk around the farm and take in the more than 8,000 coffee plants, we'll learn how to hand-pick coffee and process it; also depending of the season may we cant collect coffee but we will rousted coffe them in a really native and artisanal way. We go under the local fruits trees, the idea is to feel the coffee culture pretty close and discover the colombian coffee world. We'll process the coffee and end drinking more coffee in a diferent way of preparation, we go to te town just for eat the best traditional lunch and in the way back to the city, making brief stops to take pictures of the Paramos ecosystems and the picturesque Bogotá city skyline. We will spend between 3 or 4 hours horseback riding. We´ll leave from RESERVA GUADALAJARA - Finca hotel to visit the pastures of "Puerta de Palo" where we have milking cows. Then we cross San Pacho´s Creek and Armadillo tail in search of Elephant Rock. it's just the beginning... In the way you will enjoy crossing rivers and creeks and watching birds. But we need to climb to the top of THE ELEPHANT ROCK... a privileged and exclusive place where we can see the beautiful cocora valley and the white waters of Quindio River. After enjoying the landscape, we will cross the mountain in search of the ELF FOREST. We will leave the horses outside to protect the plants and the wax palms that are born inside. I will introduce you to my wonderful friends in the marketplace who have become more of an extension of my family. We will also learn about the local rhythm ( champeta) and dance so please don't be shy and let's have fun. We will eat some delicacies from the world renowned Cecilia's Restaurant. This restaurant was visited by Anthony Bourdain in 2008. We will try the local soda, beer and sample delicious fruits. You will be able to inmerse in our daily life, to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Bazurto public market and the most important you will have an adventure of how to discover to be a local in Cartagena. At 8:30 am we will head to one of the most colorful and charming towns in Antioquia: Guatapé. On the road, we will enjoy a traditional Colombian breakfast. Then, we will pass through El Peñol, where we will be able to observe the post-conciliar architecture of its church, until we reach the Replica of the old Peñol. There, we will have the opportunity to admire the colonial style of its houses and enjoy a majestic view over the dam. Next, we will visit one of the most attractive tourist spots in Colombia: the Piedra del Peñol. We will have one hour to climb the 742 steps which lead to the summit of the monolith and see the impressive 360º view of the surrounding landscape (20.000 COP fee to climb the Rock is not included). At 12:00 pm we will have a typical lunch in the area. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a relaxing boat trip through the dam, from which we will be able to contemplate several important buildings of the region ; all accompanied by a local guide. At 3:00 pm we will visit Guatapé, known for its decorative tiles adorning the lower facade of its houses. An experienced guide will show us its most emblematic places and culture and then you will be able to explore it on your own.
