  • Ben Nevis Guided Group Walk
We the start day meeting at the Ben Nevis Inn. Here we will meet and greet, discussing the kit and weather for the day. The journey starts, with a gentle introduction to the Pony Track, built in 1883, with plenty of history about the area along the way. Ascending steadily, we reach half way up approximately 2 hours into the journey, with a good opportunity to feed, and refill water bottles at the Red Burn. Now we start to ascend the famous Zig Zags, gaining height rapidly, along with the extending views across Ardnamurchan to the Great Glen. The plateau will be reached, followed by a steady walk to the summit, arriving in about 4 hours from the start. There is plenty to see on the summit whilst we eat (Weather allowing). The ruins of the Weather Observatory (1883-1904), The old "Hotel", and the iron frame that held Clement Wragge's observation instruments which pre dates the Observatory. If the weather allows, we can see the rest of Scotland...Mountains in every direction. We will descend the same path back to The Ben Nevis Inn, returning at approximately 5pm. We will take a series of photographs to document your day, which will become available to you as part of our service.

  • Exploring Loch Tay by Packraft
We will meet in Killin (Loch Tay). Having checked weather conditions we will prepare for a day on the water. Due to the circumstances of Covid-19 all equipment will be sprayed with antibacterial cleaner before we begin and after use. Let's not let it spoil the fun though. I will familiarise you with the equipment and describe our route once at the waters edge. You will be using a packraft which suits a wide weight/height range. The river Lochay offers a still and sheltered environment for access to Loch Tay. When we are ready we will get you comfortable in the packraft and adjust back support. Then its time to get on the water. I offer coaching and guidance but won't bombard you with the technicalities. The best way to learn is to relax and take your time. Loch Tay is surrounded by mountains and offers an impressive backdrop to your experience. We will go at your own pace as we explore the west end of Loch Tay and there are two islands. The sense of peace and freedom is wonderful here. There are some lovely, small beaches where we can have lunch. This is a day away from the stresses of daily life and an immersion in nature. You will feel very safe, stable and comfortable in the packraft due to their design. I will take plenty photos. Please also note that if you're looking for a day where I'm not scheduled it's worth checking with me anyway.

  • Learn how to throw pottery on a wheel
First be welcomed with a good Scottish tea and biscuit! Let me then talk you through some basics of technique and watch a demonstration of how to throw a pot. Including, centering, opening and wall building. At this point you can choose whether you would like to just have a go, or be talked through step by step. You can make two pots, choose your best one for firing and glazing! Take the other home to show off your creation! Pots will be glazed in a neutral white gloss. Information will then be given on turning, glaze and firing if you would like that. I will turn your pot bases for you the next day, and glaze and fire when dried. I also have a small selection of bisque for paint a pot, if you don’t like the idea of messy clay! :-) I can post your pot on to you for a small extra postage fee of £5, or you can collect them when ready. The focus will be on fun : - ) and experience, getting your hands messy and making something functional and beautiful to take home as a special memory. New corona virus measures....gel hands and forearms prior to throwing. Masks on whilst in the studio. Tea and coffee can be taken in the front porch of studio, to allow masks off in there. Only one group per day is taken with anti bacterial wiping of all surfaces in between. Towels are washed at high temperature between groups :-) Other things to note Sleeves that roll up are useful!
