I've never been because I'm reluctant to see what horrors happened in a building I walk by everyday. However, the KGB museum comes highly recommended from everyone!

A must-see part of any trip to Vilnius for people wishing to understand this often bleak and violent period in the country’s history, what the sign fails to point out is that between 1941 and 1944.

“Gediminas' Tower is the remaining part of the Upper Castle in Vilnius, Lithuania. The first wooden fortifications were built by Gediminas, Grand Duke of Lithuania. The first brick castle was completed in 1409 by Grand Duke Vytautas. The three-floor tower was rebuilt in 1933 by Polish architect Jan Borowski. Beautiful views of the city from the top of the tower. Steep climb though, especially in winter”
