Why locals recommend it

This is a beautiful stretch of beach that you can get direct access to, which is rare. Get a deck chair, stick your toes in the sand, grab a beer, and write away while listening to the ocean. If you're not going on a weekend, you're going to get plenty of space and it's going to be like your own little private beach retreat. Park on the PCH and walk in to save the parking cost. Stop off at Solstice Canyon for a great hike on your way back into the city.

This is one of the rare Malibu Beaches where you can park right at the beach but you have to know that they require $40 of dining services or charge $40 for parking and you can only stay four hours or they will charge you for additional parking! Be sure to get Validated! The food is very mediocre so the best value are the drinks, smoothies, and guacamole which easily add up to $40! One of the best tips….if the tide is low once you get out in front of the restaurant and you want a more private experience….You can walk to the right (North) to much more secluded beach called Point Dume!… One of the best beaches in Malibu…along with El Matador which is another 20 minutes North (and a short hiked down a hillside).

Beautiful secluded beach with a bar restaurant. Hang out at the bungalows in front of the restaurant, or walk north towards Point Dume for a quieter spot. You can walk all the way to Point Dume on a low tide. This is one of the most beautiful spots on the coast, secluded beach under the steep bluffs.

Either find your own private bit of paradise along the beach or join the cafe's theme-park like setup that’s great for kids and adults alike! You can either stay at the restaurant for feet in the sand dining and cabana lounging or venture a bit further up the beach to find your own private cove. Enjoy watching surfers or the sunset. However, don't plan on bringing your own board down, unless you plan to park on the street, as they're very strict on only using their paid parking lot for the restaurant.
