This trail which runs between lakeside and hillside is an absolute treat, if you get to enjoy the sunset at the Hill of Doon it is one of the nicest scenes you will see in the area. The route starts near Oughterard, runs through Glann past the front of Glann House to the Hill of Doon, then through Maam Valley and onto Leenaune, the route in its entirety continues all the way to near county Sligo some 200km in total. But the Oughterard to Maum leg is about 23km
