Lisdoonvarna used to be Ireland's premier spa town where the gentry would go to spend the summer months to "take the [sulphur] water" and check out the opposite sex. From this, the matchmaking festival came into existence. The spa wells are a bit hidden, a beautiful spot at the southern end of Main Street. With its well maintained park and the historical building, it is a little gem.
