K-47/PRIMO TAPIA: When it comes to tacos, I only recommend places that serve them al carbon, (from a wood-fired asador grill) AND that have a “trompo” (rotating spit) for cooking Al Pastor/adobada tacos. This place has both, and the tacos are good.

Believe it or not, seeing the chef carve meat off a BBQ spit with a machete isn’t the best part of this roadside restaurant, located just a few minutes south of Casa Arroyo. We‘ve been coming here for 20 years and informally call it “the torta place”, but it has a name! “Los Mejores Tacos De Puebla”. The tacos are the best and the tortas are even better. Friends of the family have been known to drive South of the border JUST for these tortas.
