The space
Sleeping: The three bedrooms all have queen beds. Two futons and a couch in living/dining areas. Please give us a heads' up for your sleeping arrangements so we can provide the correct amount of bedding (if you plan to use futons, the couch or air mattresses).

The house: approx 2,000 sqft home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge living spaces and a massive covered patio with plenty of seating. Full kitchen (no dishwasher; most kitchens in PR don’t have them because dishwashers cause mold in the jungle!).

Ideally, the Guest House sleeps 6 comfortably in 3 queen beds. 1-6 guests are included in the base price. More than 6 guests (up to 10, but it will be tight) are $20 per person per night (regardless of how many nights additional guests plan to stay). There are two futons, a sofa and a couple of twin air mattresses that could be used for extra guests.

Jacuzzi: Though private, please wear bathing suits (we have 3 rentals on the property). Water only. No soaps, oils, shampoo, bubbles, etc. (the water drains to nature).

Property: We’re located on 6.5 acres of lush jungle mountains. We have turkeys, chickens and roosters who love to crow early in the morning.

Trash: Please either put closed trash bags in the carport for us to pick up and drive to the blue bins in front of our home (or feel free to take it also).

House Etiquette: Please note that we live next door and also have two other rentals in the main home, so please be respectful, especially during quiet hours 10pm-9am.

Absolutely no loud music, partying or smoking on the property. We’re a tranquil spot to enjoy friends and family in a nature setting.

IMPORTANT: Electricity is extremely expensive in PR (3x+ more than California); please help us stay in operation — turn off ACs, fans and light if you're leaving for the day. Please be sure to keep windows on when the AC is on.

We have a very friendly cat named Lucky who does what he wants. He may wander into your space if you leave doors or windows open. Please let us know if he bothers you so that we can lock him in our home during your stay.

There is NO SMOKING OF *ANY KIND* ANYWHERE AT CAGUAS VILLA. Smoking in doors or on our property is a violation of our house rules and can and will cancel your reservation and a smoke cleaning fee will be charged.

Guest access
Caguas Villa is located in a gated community and we will have 1-2 beepers available for you to enter and leave the gate during your stay. Two covered parking spaces provided in garage.

Upon signing our waiver, guests can access our private trails and river.

Note: Only guests of the Rooftop have access to the Rooftop. Guests of the Guest House do not have access to the rooftop.

River access requires access to the trail behind the Guest House. Please note that other guests/owners and family may need to cut through the patio to get to the river. We’re working on another trail so that the trail behind the Guest House is truly only for the Guest House — we will give you a heads up before passing through!

Other things to note
Check in is 4pm-9pm; however, we know all about late flights. If you have a late flight and would like to stay at Caguas Villa, please let us know upon booking and we’ll make an exception! 😀

We love chickens! We have Silkies, Pollocks and Brahmans. The roosters love to crow early in the morning. Also, we have intense jungle sounds here — coquis, birds and bug sounds are intense (we love it but you may not)! The jungle is LOUD at night. Bring ear plugs if jungle sounds aren’t soothing to you.

This is the jungle and you will see bugs.

We have an outdoor cat (Lucky). He is very friendly and may wander onto the patio and nap on outdoor furniture.

This is a tranquil spot perfect for relaxing and winding down. Absolutely NO smoking, partying or loud music allowed on the property.

Trash: Please either put closed trash bags in the carport for us to pick up and drive to the blue bins in front of our home (or feel free to take it to the trash bins at the top of the hill also).
