Educative 3.45 km long path leads through the most beautiful and hardly accessible places of the preserve, provide the visitors with knowledge about nature, peculiarities of local landscape. Information stands, bowers, car parking places are installed here. Varnikai preserve boasts 600 species of higher plants (16 of them are in the Red Book of Lithuania), 118 species of moss (4 protected species, and 3 species were found in Lithuania for the first time), 204 species of lichen (4 protected species), 15 species of protected insects were found there. This path goes thought naturally formed and human planted forest and reaches the swamp, with a specific swamp type plants. The nature of the path is always changing and this makes this path unique.

Nice forest with paths through swamps.

I love this hiking trail, it goes through the swamp, so most of the track is made from wood. Truly beautiful place.

This hiking trail is 25km away from Vilnius, near Trakai and it's probably my favourite hiking trail in whole Lithuania. You can go to Trakai by train and then explore this hiking trail. I know it's not really in my neighbourhood but I couldn't help myself :)
