Located in the Rua da Igreja Nova, the Mother Church of Albufeira was built in the 18th century (1782), to replace the previous church (originally an Arab mosque) that was destroyed during the earthquake of 1755. This church comprises a single nave in neoclassical style with four side chapels, a baptismal chapel, choir, two pulpits and two side chambers. The high alter has a beautiful altar piece by the painter of Albufeira, Samora Barros (20th century), that serves as a backdrop for the image of the patron saint of Albufeira, Our Lady of Conception. Above the arch of the main door, we can see the cross of Aviz, representing the religious and military order to which Albufeira once belonged.

Há diversos monumentos religiosos na cidade. A Igreja da Matriz foi construída em 1782 com o intuito de substituir a antiga matriz, que originalmente era uma mesquita árabe, mas que foi destruída pelo terremoto de 1755. A Igreja da Matriz é de estilo neoclássico e no altar-mor fica a imagem da padroeira da cidade, a Nossa Senhora da Conceição. A Torre do Relógio é outro monumento religioso e que também era uma antiga torre muçulmana. De lá é possível ter uma bela vista de toda a cidade. A Igreja de São Sebastião foi construída na metade do século XVIII e de traços mais populares, apresentando uma cúpula muito bonita e uma nave única.
