pancake cottage is over 200 years old and has been run by Peter & Margaret Kerssens since 1997. The old dormer cottage was originally a family farmhouse, located on a sidetrack on the famous Ring of Kerry overlooking Slievaduff Valley. The area is a favourite with tourists and locals alike. Peter & Margaret turned the cottage into a little café/restaurant creating the space themselves as they have a great love for cooking and creating things. Keeping the traditional Irish cottage-style which makes it a cosy and homely restaurant, with a welcoming wood burning stove but with modern facilities. The cottage has its own well, so there is no chloride in the water system, just pure natural filtered spring water. The little art & craft shop is another aspect of “The Strawberry Field”. The crafts are all by local artists, including items created by Peter and Margaret’s paintings and crafts.
