  • Surfing in Tofino Beginners Welcome
Ride your first waves, enjoy your time in the water as you soak in the epic scenery where ocean and land meet. Surfs Up! Your introduction to surfing begins with changing into warm wetsuit and carrying your soft-top board to the beach. On the sand we review ocean safety, wave theory and surf etiquette, all the things needed to make some great memories and catch some choice Tofitian waves. How Deep is the Ocean? During your surf experience you will be spending most of your time in waist to shoulder deep water. You will surf the waves close to shore and I will be with you the whole time. Challenging Fun Expect to physically active for the two hours as catching waves includes paddling, popping up and gliding along safely to shore. You will spend nearly two hours enjoying this amazing pastime and feeling refreshed, exhilarated, and probably in need of a snack, before we ride a final wave back to shore for a few photos. Wetsuits I provide complete wetsuits to keep you warm and comfortable during your surf experience as well as an appropriate surf board for your level of experience. Message with questions and to reserve specific times, (Sunset surfs are a personal favourite).

Other things to note bring - jacket for colder nights on the water Be prepared for water time. We try to keep to the schedule but water waves, creatures, etc may choose to hold us up. • Bioluminescence Kayak Tour
BIOLUMINESCENCE KAYAK TOUR $110 per person The Bioluminescence Tour gives us a surreal experience. Living organisms produce light, causing the water to glow and sparkle like a cosmic mirror. Any motion in the ocean waters accents this offering, a dance of light as we paddle in darkness. In our experience a kayak tour offers the best way to experience this magic as we move through the night in silence, also motorboats can harm the plankton which are a keystone species for ocean health. Our focus is on safety and fun as we witness the ocean in a unique way that few have had the opportunity to enjoy. The silence opens our senses as we glide through the water almost as if we are flying – a beautiful way to connect with the mysteries and wonders of nature. Watch the ocean floor come alive below and around you, see the glow on the fish and seals. As the sunlight fades silhouetting the BC Coast Mountain range, bats swirl above, heron and other birds head to their roosting spots. Only a short distance from the Backeddy Resort we melt into the night behind the Sutton Islands, away from the lights on shore. We explore with our sensory awareness and encourage you to feel with an open heart. Things to note: See Metta eco experiences website for details, tour times will vary based on time of year. We provide updates on the exact times. Our tours provide a safe and fun adventure.

  • Forest Therapy Experience with Heart
You will be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Once everyone has arrived, we will begin our experience by sitting in the forest and hearing a few words on what forest therapy is, a brief history, the benefits and role of the guide. Next we will slowly meander about the forest, covering less than a kilometre in two hours, engaging our senses to the details of the forest atmosphere. As your guide, I will offer "invitations" or suggestions on how to engage our senses. Ultimately, you are the best guide for yourself and get to choose whether you accept each invitation. Most people do, and occasionally guests create their own invitation. As your guide, I welcome you to feel free to be your most authentic self, where ever in life you happen to be in the moment. All is welcome: joy, fear, laughter, tears...everything. In between each invitation, we will have the opportunity to share our individual experience with the group whether in words, silence, another language...again, all is welcome. This authentic experience allows us to share from the heart and listen from the heart. The experience ends with a wild tea ceremony where we get to taste the forest. During these pandemic times, guests are asked to bring their own mug. Light hearted conversation follows to bring the experience to a warm-hearted ending.
