We renovated the 2 story earthenware built in the Edo period and made it a guesthouse. It is not spacious, but there is a kitchen with an IH cooking heater on the ground floor while leaving an earthenware wall or a thick beam.Air conditioner and oil heater are also equipped for a comfortable stay. You can experience the sound insulation unique to the earthen warehouse, the coolness of summer, and the warmth of winter. Please enjoy coffee brewed with freshly ground beans at the on-site Kominka Cafe. 10-20 minutes by car, there are Nagahama Taiko Onsen, Sogawa Onsen, Sugatani Onsen, and Ibuki Yuki.Sister River Onsen can provide coupon tickets (at a discount from the general price).For pick-up and drop-off, please contact us. There are many sightseeing spots unique to Nagahama that have often been the stage of history. * On 2/19-4/30, we plan to paint the exterior walls of the building and the construction of the store on the second floor.It is a work around 8:30 - 17:00 except on Sundays.You can use the accommodation on the ground floor as usual, but please make a reservation after you acknowledge it. It is recommended for single or two people, but one extra bed can be used for up to 3 people (consultation required separately) As soon as you leave the room and ascend the embankment, you can enjoy Lake Biwa in front of you, and the mountains of Hiei and Hira on the other side, the sunrise and sunset in the lake, and the magical scenery that moves with time and seasons. We also recommend jogging, walking along the levee, and cycling along the lake road!! It's very quiet around here. Long stays and business trips are also welcome!Please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to use it. 5-minute walk to a large shopping mall [Pieri] There is a supermarket, a 100 yen uniform, a food court, an open-air bath with a view of Lake Biwa, and a variety of baths and saunas. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. Reikaku Yasaka | Gion | Historical Machiya

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. The result is Japanese craftsmanship at its best and we are very proud to be able to share the result with the rest of the world. Check our other house as an alternate option @ Reikaku Kiyomizu-Gojo

We have a Canadian house, just a stone through away from the beautiful Lake Biwa. Suitable place to stay for family trip, with friends and work trip. For 8guests or less, we rent 3 bed rooms (with 8 beds) For 9guests or more, we can rent the extra cabin space which is still part of the building but usually there is no access.(5 bed rooms and an attic, 12 beds and another bathroom) please see photos and enquire within. - No Party - No BBQ after 9pm
