The best Korean chicken I've ever had. The spicy is SPICY but I love it. Good beers, too. Order take-out or eat in but be ready to wait a little since dishes take about 20 minutes. You won't regret it.

It doesn't get any closer than this! Look over from my balcony and you can see this place (and sometimes hear it, too). Can't beat the setting, or the drinks, really. I love the Narragansett lager + Del's lemonade mix -- brings me back to my two years in Rhode Island!

Parks & Nature

Yards Park isn't huge, but it is awesome. When the boardwalk ends at the park, to the left is a nice plot of green grass, and to the right is this awesome native plants garden to sit and look out on the water. Walk a little further (or just follow your ears) and you can watch a ton of very jubilant kids splashing in the waterfall and shallow pool in the middle of the park. Head over the white bridge and sit on the public patio to eat lunch, or a little farther to a second grassy area, and beyond it, some nice shade trees and really cool benches and built-in lounge chairs. Just writing about it makes me wish I were there!

Take a bike and find your way here, with some food and drinks (maybe even grab my navy picnic backpack from the clothes closet!) Watch the planes land across the river at DCA (Reagan airport) and the bikers whiz by you, and contemplate your existence. Especially mesmerizing during cherry blossom season.

Arts & Culture

Frederick Douglass is more than "an example of somebody who's done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more." His is an amazing story of education, leadership, bravery, and conviction in the mid-1800s. His house in Anacostia is a National Park, and there's an excellent visitors' center with a 20-minute movie that will help you know someone you should know about, and will make you wonder why you didn't know more about him before.
