Every year at the end of Aug the town is taken back to Medieval Days. The castle offers great panoramic views of the area. Its free to enter on normal days... Sensible footwear is a must... Good place

Tavira is a picturesque town on the banks of a river. Besides the town centre next to the riverfront is a converted fish market hall which now houses many bars and restaurants and artisan shops. A must visit.

The restaurant is hidden behind curtains on a corner but reasonably spacious inside. This Portuguese menu is pleasantly different. I loved the liver & onions. The whole meal was very good value .

If you want to experience good sea food at a good price you must visit O Tapas. Don't expect an outstanding place or modern cuisine, it's just sea food at it's best. Quite touristy but deservadly so.

Very good water park. Lots of slides, well designed so even when it's busy the queues are long but just about bearable. Overall, it's a very good water park. Downsides - no wave pool, no lazy river.
