Food Scene

One of the best fish restaurants in Portimão, famous for its fresh fish courses. And its right next to the pier so one can take a walk after the food and maybe buy ice cream or crepes at Casa Inglesa, where one can find handmade ice cream that is to die for! It might be a good idea to visit the restaurant during the day and reserv a table cause the portugese love this place and comes there with their families as well.

Parks & Nature

Take a drive up the mountains on a cloudfree day. There are beautiful sights to be seen, and its amazing to see how people can farm and use the most steep hill sides. We usually drive up wich takes about 40 minutes from tha apartment and on the way down eat lunch in one of the small restaurants, where chicken is their speciality. The mountain is also used for people workning out by riding their bikes so if that's your thig you're bound to meet people with similar interests.

A really big beach close to the apartment need i say more? Takes about 5-10 minutes with car and 20 if you ride a bike. The beach has sun shades you can rent, water activities like the ones where you're on a float behind a boat and jetskies (during summer) and lot of restaurants. If you go up the stairs to the street above the beach you'll find even more restaurants as well as bars, hotels and shops.

A beach about 5-10 minutes away with car, 15 on the bike. Has one or two restaurants and if you time the ebb and flow right you can walk along the water to find other beaches. During the summer season you can try some water activites and when it's time for food you have some options to chose from. Also really close is a bunch of restaurants where you can eat everything from seafood to pizza and even a club sandwich.

Probably our favourite. It's a tiny bit further away from Praia Grande and quite a bit smaller. There is a restaurant and thats about it. When one get tired of the big beach and trying to fight the waves and salesmen on the bigger beaches Pintadinho is a perfect choise. But its popular amongst the portuguese and one should aim to arrive there early if one wants to claim a place for sunbathing. We ususally go here for a dip at the evenings.

Entertainment & Activities

It's a water park! Enough said i think. They have something for all ages and likes. If you want to go fast, around or just chill in the pool. A nice change from having to wash salt and sand from your hair. It's cheaper to but tickets before getting there and they can be bought in almost all shops that sells things like newspapers or the likes. You can also catch a bus there from portimão.

Kind of a zoo/aquarium because they have live animals like doplhins which you can swim with. They also have exhibitions, last time it was about dinosaurs and if that wasn't enough it's also kind of like a small amusement park with rides, both oridnary and water slides. So one should be able to find something for all members of the group. Tickets are often cheaper to buy before getting there and you can also book a ride there from portimão. It's not open all year aorund, the season starts in March
