In the historical center of Parma, La Barrique is a small wine shop with bar where the local wine and the typical products are protagonists. In Garibaldi Street, the heart of Parma, La Barrique proposes direct sale of wines, liqueurs and craft beers but also glass tastings combined with cold cuts, cheeses and typical products and tasty happy-hours. Non only tastings and happy-hours: La Barrique offers the possibility of quick lunches with traditional tortelli, pumpkin tortelli, cold cuts and cheeses platters and the unmissable “cavallo pesto”. An ideal place for a tasty and frizzy stop in the heart of Parma.

It was established thanks to the Giordano Ferrari collection, the collection related to animation theatre in Italy. Inside the museum, which has approximately 300 cubic metres of space at its disposal, an exhibition features a considerable part of the material that was patiently collected by the Parmesan puppeteer during more than sixty years of activity. The collection does not only contain items produced by the Ferrari family; it primarily consists of pieces from various sources, that were collected, acquired or donated by other artists. Approximately 500 pieces are on display (puppets, marionettes, heads, stage props, photographs and posters), a small part of a much larger

Designed by Benedetto Antelami, and built between 1196 and 1216, the Baptistery of Parma is one of the most important monuments of the transition from Romanesque to early Gothic architecture. The octagonal structure, in pink Verona marble, includes four tiers of open loggias with architraved portals. The cupola of the Baptistery was frescoed in the third decade of the 13th century by craftsmen from the Po river region, influenced by Byzantine iconographic models.

Remarkable body of public buildings, Piazzale della Pace has been recently redesigned on a project by one of the most popular architects in Europe, Mario Botta, rapidly becoming a meeting point for young people. Botta's high degree of sensitivity to the environment hosting his architectural creations, has brought together contradictory elements, combining the massive Pilotta palace on the west side with a meadow, tall trees and a fountain on the sites bombed during the war. On the northern side of the square stands the Intendenza palace, designed by Ennemond Petitot, architect at the court of Marie Louise.
