This headland was once a great fort and some of the earthwork defences can still be seen. You will find a Pillar on the summit and has the name 'Docinia' inscribed in Oghan script.

The fort with a two roomed house and a souterrain was probably built between the 8th and the 10th century AD. It was only discovered and excavated about 25 years ago. Found on a farmers land. There are more to be excavated in time.
