Food scene

Stunning beach and the famous Ventry Post Office, Ireland's best little shop! During the summer, phosphorescence can be seen in the sea. Full moon, calm weather and a dark night is usually the right combo. A magical experience. There is also a boat tour that leaves from Ventry that brings guests out to see dolphins, whales, seals and sharks. All depending on the wildlife of course, even if you don't see anything the coastline is stunning and you are always promised a great trip.

A stunning gold course surrounded by beautiful views. A must see for any golfers. Even if you don't golf, the views from the golfclub are amazing. Be sure to pop in for some food or a drink on your visit.

In my opinion Solas is Dingle's best restaurant. They produce the most glorious Spanish food, but we sure to book in advance as they have limited availability! It is a treat for the senses!

Traveler advice

Don't miss

Sunrise from Béal Bán

There is nowhere better to see the sunrise. Check the time on your weather app that the sun is rising and get down to Béal Bán. It is a magical experience! For an extra hit of magic, hop into the sea at the pier on the Árd na Caithne side of Béal Bán, there is no greater pleasure on earth!
Don't miss

Sunset from Dúinín Pier

When the weather is good, and the sky is clear of clouds head over to Dúinín Pier for a picnic while the sun sets. It is a truly magical experience.
Book before you go

Great Blasket Island

At the most westerly point in Europe it is a breathing taking journey across the Blasket Sound and to the Island itself. There are a few options: You can take a day trip, ferries leave from Dún Chaoin and Dingle and you can spend a few hours on the Island. Hop off as part of a whale watching trip, a boat leaves from Ventry at 10am, you get off at the Island at 11am, collected at 2pm and then head off around the islands in search of local wildlife. The boat arrives back in Ventry for 5pm. Or you can even stay overnight! There aren't many amenities on site so be sure to pack what you need!
What to pack

Always prepare for the rain!

As beautiful as West Kerry is, we are on the very edge of Europe, and the first stop for the clouds passing over the Atlantic. We can get 3 seasons in a day here sometimes, which adds to the drama of the surroundings. Depending on what you would like to get up to, hiking, swimming, walking, boat trips, picnics, golf, nights out, be sure to bring suitable clothing and shoes. If you intend on going for a few drinks in Ballyferriter and want to walk home, please wear a high-vis on your way back home.
