The Fremont 'downtown' area has a number of public sculptures worth walking around to - The Troll (is located under a bridge) is big enough to be grasping a VW Beetle - very Instagram-able, Lenin (actual statue from former USSR/Russia), The Interurban, The Rocket.
The Fremont neighborhood abuts the ship canal and the Burke Gilman Trail runs along the water front. There's a bike or jogging trail going from the Fremont Bridge north toward Ballard neighborhood or south toward the University of Washington. Great for jogging or bicycling. The trail is level and goes through many neighborhoods!
