Family run business, home cooked food and a good pint. Strongly recommend the scampi & chips - the scampi is local and the size of lobster tails in a batter that's a bit like tempura.

Scattery Island
The spectacular end of the Loop Head Peninsula where the Shannon meets the Atlantic (or vice versa). Next stop - America! Looking towards America, the Shannon is on your left and the Atlantic on your right. Fabulous views and visitors can go up into the Lighthouse. There is a small centre for local history and a refreshment area. Free car parking or to walk its approximately 5km from us (uphill going there...think about it). Part of the latest Star Wars film was recently filmed there (2016).

Short video explains how the Burren was formed. The perfumery is world class and sells the products made on site. There is also a wonderful garden to explore and a cafe selling refreshments and cakes. Its a little oasis in an otherwise very barren landscape.

Fantastic expansive bay with the Atlantic rolling in. Spanish Point was named after the Spanish who died here in 1588, when many ships of the Spanish Armada were wrecked during stormy weather. Those who escaped from their sinking ships and made it safely to land were later executed by Sir Turlough O'Brien of Liscannor and Boethius Clancy, High Sheriff of Clare. It is also one of the better surf breaks in County Clare.
