Watch the sunset in one of the most romantic spots the island. This lighthouse was built in 1892 by the French Lighthouse Company. The height of its tower is 10 meters and its focal height is 100 meters. The lighthouse initially operated with oil and range around 23 nm. It was extinguished during World War II until 1945 when the Navy began to reorganize its lighthouse network. In 1983 it was electrified and became fully automated in 1988. Today it gives white light with flashes of every 10 ΄΄ and range 24nm.

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Republic of Venice, which occupied Santorini in 1207. Eager to fortify the island, the Venetians built a series of fortresses and watchtowers at strategic points around the island. Near the small village on the slope of Akrotiri, Venetian engineers built a new castle on top of the pre-existing Byzantine observatory. The castle became one of the most defensible places on the island. The fortress did not fall for several hundred years. It was finally surrendered to the Turks in 1617 during the Venetian-Turkish wars. The castle was in relatively good condition until 1956, when an earthquake turned it into ruins

The Red Beach of Santorini is famous all over the world, the most popular among the beaches of the island, a real attraction of the special nature of this place. The volcano of Santorini, as it is clear, created in Kokkini Paralia perhaps its most impressive work of art. Nature itself, like a talented sculptor, continues to "work" her work, as the salt, the sun, the rain water and of course the wind still shape the impressive rocks and constantly give them new shapes. The light of the sun could be said to highlight this "work" and depending on the time of day, the Red sometimes looks like the red of the fire and sometimes like the dark velvet…

Picturesque church just above the beach of Balos or Palos bay. It is said that the area got this name because here the girls danced Balo. From the main road to Akrotiri we descend (altitude difference of 110 meters), to the caldera, where we will see the second sign for the path eleven (11) . The trail is steep and needs a little attention (downhill time 15 minutes). The route is very beautiful, as it is every time we go down the caldera while we will notice several characteristic caves dug into the red ground (it is said that some of them were inhabited by nuns). The area here in the 19th century was a small port through which the products of the area were distributed. Its ruined pier, as well as half-ruined buildings and caves will be seen on the small deserted beach west of the chapel.

Mesa Pigadia beach is located on the Akrotiri peninsula. One of the lesser known and most visited beaches in Santorini (partly due to the steep road that leads to the beach). In addition to the stunning and wild landscape, one of the main reasons you will visit Mesa Pigadia is the Beach bar, and the picturesque tavern of the mesa pigadia area Ideal for couples, this beautiful, cool and relaxed beach is the perfect tonic to soothe stress and recharge your batteries.
