Traveler advice

Getting around

Take a Ferry to Manhattan, Queens, or South Brooklyn

Walk to India street to take the Ferry. It’s very reliable, download the NYC Ferry app to buy tickets and check times. Make sure you are boarding the ferry in the right direction, ask a local if unsure.
Getting around

Greenpoint Subway G train can get you around

Walk to Greenpoint Ave and Manhattan Avenue (2 blocks) to take the nearest subway stop. One direction goes to Long Island City where you can switch to a multitude of other trains at Court Square, the other travels deeper into Brooklyn. Download the NYC Subway app to check train paths, stops, and time estimates (not very accurate).

Taxi v Uber/Lyft

If looking for a taxi be aware the Yellow Cabs are only available if the yellow number up top is lit. Green cabs can only operate north of a certain street range in Manhattan. Taxi will be quicker but more expensive, Uber will allow ride share opportunity but often employ drivers reliant on outdated GPS systems unaware of gridlock traffic.
Book before you go
