Traveler advice
Getting around
Uber Taxis or busses and trains to go far..
Uber taxis are quick and easy to uses (also Uber Eats delivers to the door). If you want to explore Lisbon for a day the busses and trains from Portimao are cheap and fast to get to the big city.
Customs and culture
Always say BOM DIA!!
Great people with a friendly "bom dia" to make their day.
Portugal is a safe place to be and is very family friendly.
Ways to save
Ticket outlets - save save save...
In the summer time there are ticket outlets in the towns but shop around for some of the best prices. The water parks often have big promotions on so make sure you check out prices on Google etc beforehand. All sites will be in English.
What to pack
SUNCREAM!!! Bring suncream and a hat!
Suncream is expensive in the supermarkets. Bring what you can with you. Also make sure you bring a hat for keeping the sun off your head and use plenty of water. Even in the winter months you will need it.
Ways to save
Shopping Mall & English supermarket
Within a 10 minutes drive or short Uber you will be in Portimao where there is Aqua Mall. This has all the big brand shops and restaurants including McDonalds and Primark. Just outside the mall is an English supermarket which stocks Iceland, Waitrose and Greggs!!
