A must see! Right off Rt 3 about 5 minutes form he apartment. i have travels the entire country and this is the BEST SERVICE restaurant ever. Pedro the owner ensures that all servers act as a concierge. Not just the service but FANTASTIC FOOD. They have a $40 margarita pitcher that will sure make you happy! Keep in mind to tip the valet even though they do not valet (sounds odd) however, they will instruct you as to where to park in front of the restaurant. They just provide a watch on the cars.

You have a choice to do a rather strenuous hike or just to visit and stop by a certain overlook spots with the car. Must see.. Amazing how nature recovered itself after a major hurricane. Need to make reservations online the day or a couple of days before your date of visit! Online reservations open at 8am.. Search for El Yunque reservations and look for recreation-dot-gov (not able to fully provide the site address)

What to pack
Need reservations at recreation dot gov
Reservations are required to enter El Yunque. Check out the site as reservations are open after 8am the day before you wish to visit. There is a small $2.00 reservation fee per car. - Being in a rain forest, there may be an occasional shower. The weather is much cooler than near the beach, but tolerable. Bring your bathing suit if you want to take a dip in a natural watering hole.
Useful phrases
"Buen provecho"
The island custom is to say "buen provecho" when you encounter someone that is eating or about to eat a meal. Lets say that you walk in to a restaurant and see guests enjoying their meal, then you will say this phrase as you continue walking pass them. Meaning of this is to "enjoy your meal"...

"Buen Dia"
When you see people approaching you and if are looked in the eyes, a respectful way is to greet them is to say "Buen Dia" meaning have a good day.

'Rincon del Sabor' Pleasant local restaurant, reasonably priced, good food including seafood. rice and beans etc. On the road past the plaza going out of town east.
'LENA'S' on the corner by the plaza. Nice restaurant, a little pricey.
'Pan Rico' Coffee shop, Bakery. Opposite side of Plaza. Breakfast & lunch. Corner - across from the plaza.
