Favourite places to eat (quality gourmet)

I love handmade food, I bake my own bread, scones make jams and ferment my own sourkraut. Derek my partner runs his own polytunnel. So I am quite a foodie, I will provide you with my personal best selection of where to entertain and eat in the City.
Open Monday to Sat, this place is my fav lunch spot. Large portions, seasonal menu, great combination plates for breakfast and lunch/brunch. My fav sweet stuff is crepes with lemon curd custard, also pulled pork sandwich. There are tasty vegetarian options too.

The Grove Veggie kitchen open only Monday to Friday, for 10 euro it serves delicious platters of vegetarian food. Its locals fav spot for lunch, small and not touristy. My favourite is spinach pie, try their sourkraut too. A little casual small gem in the city run by the same person Sue for last 10 years. Also great portions for 10 eu, value excellent.

The best place to visit when you are doing the river walk, as it is opposite to King Johns Castle right acoross the river. For food its on a pricey side but it specialises in seafood , so for fish trio its 26 euro. Also it serves seasonal burgers also worth a try, unusual combos that I really like. Quality pub, also great for grabbing a pint of guinness as it has great views. My fav pub for special occasions. Try the mussles as they are always a great value in Ireland.

Out of town towards the University of Limerick annacotty but you can park no problem and the indian food is divine. Lovely location by the Mulkear river in Annacotty. Any curries are great I usually go for daily specials as the selection is too good. However the buttered chicken mekhani or lamb madras is always a favourite of mine.

I just put coca cola bikes in Cork, but this scheme runs in limerick and it costs 3 euro to rent for 3 days! first 30 min free. Use the bike to cycle to the University of Limerick by river Shannon, start of the bike route is at the gate by the canal

visit their woolen mill where they produce amazing scarves from wool and silk. They are my friends and they will show you around. Scarves are in amazing prices too. Drive through Killaloe along lough derg lake for spectacular views along the way. For a nice fine day. In Killaloe visit the wooden spoon coffee for a tea and a scone. Nice small place.

Book a kayaking session on the river with Get West, it costs 35 euro only, the timing depends on the ebb and flow of the river Shannon on the day. Its tidal. All gear provided, you will be able to see the city from a completely different perspective.
