My favorite restaurant in Ensenada. Restaurant is located in the garden of what used to be a residential house. Nice homey feel. The food is great and Javi (owner) is a great host always on top of everything. Try the arrachera (flank steak) or portobello risotto, their queso fundido (kind of like fondue), or anything! It's all delicious.

Great Fresh Seafood right next door to the famous "Mercado Negro", Ensenada's fish market. I personally love the risotto, the fresh ceviche and the envueltos de camarón (shrimp). Place is small and fills up pretty quickly! Worth the wait

If your interested in eating some serious steak and other cuts be sure to visit La Hoguera. Delicious Mexican and grill food. I come here for the lamb barbacoa (slow cooked in the ground), the guacamole, tableside made to order salsa and the fresh corn tortillas ( this especially).

A family favorite in the Valle de Guadalupe, the chef and owner, Miguel Angel Guerrero, is one of the initiators of the BajaMed cuisine. Try their organic roasted chicken, the squash carpaccio (carpaccio de calabaza), their parmesan fries, the lamb barbacoa or an aged ribeye. Good for families, prices are great for the Valle de Guadalupe. Portions are good. There is a playground for the kids. All the wine served here is LA Cetto as the restaurant is nestled between LA Cetto vineyards. If going here on a weekend or in summer be sure to call and make a reservation

Great spot for a quick bite while touring the Valle de Guadalupe with a great view of part of the Valley. Try the lechon (suckling pig) tacos they are delicious. I personally like the Big Blend and their Sauvignon Blanc from Vena Cava.

Deliciousness at it's best! If you have money to splurge be sure to head on out to Deckman's. The place is set in the middle of Rancho El Mogor which has it's own winery and organic farm. Everything is cooked with wood and outdoor, it's truly a unique experience. Dining area is in a building made out of hay bales. Try the Mogor Wines, I personally love their red. For lunch or dinner do the Ribeye Steak (it takes a while but is superb) or one of the pastas

The place for ceviche. At our house here's where we buy our Ceviche. El coyote (owner) is very attentive and makes some delicious tostada's. A personal favorite: Order two dozen clams, cleaned and diced. Ask for him to give you the shell also. Order medium glasses of tomato, onions and parsley. Buy some blue cheese, Monterey jack cheese, bacon, onion and garlic. Cook bacon and sautée onions and garlic. Shred Monterrey Cheese. Mix clams, tomato, onions, garlic and a bit of parsley in a bowl. Add cheeses and bacon and mix. Fill clam shells with mixture. Wrap clam shells in foil. Put them on the grill for 15-20 min. Deliciousness!

Great option in the Valle. You can enjoy a great meal at the main restaurant (make sure to book a table a couple of weeks before), or have a quick bite at Lupe (Food Truck, say hello to the manager Rebe for me) and sip some of their Agua Frescas (Pana is the best), or maybe splurge and enjoy a Gourmet meal under an old oak tree at Animalón. A different winery as everything here is done by gravity using a method the winemaker, Alonso Granados, learned while studying his masters in Spain. The winery is perched on the hill with a stunning and different view of the Valle de Guadalupe. They have an onsite restaurant with tapas (Spanish small plates) available. I definitely recommend doing the premium wine tasting and asking for Alonso to be your guide.

Ensenada's first and best brewery, without a doubt, located in an inconspicuous building between oxxo and starbucks. It's a great place to hangout with friends. It can get crowded some days but normally there's always a spot. Open only from 6pm to 12am, it serves local and international beers and wines. It also has a kitchen with some delicious plates. I recommend any of Wendlandt's beers (especially Foca Parlante (stout) or Harry Polanco (red ale). From the kitchen fries are a must, as are the pork belly tacos or tostadas
