One of the most spectacular modern buildings in Prague, located on a riverbank, very often photographed by both locals and travellers, located just next to a house where former president of CR (Vaclav Havel) used to live. A MUST SEE :)

This theater is not only beautiful, but has very nice history too. The National Theatre belongs to the most important Czech cultural institutions, with a rich artistic tradition, which helped to preserve and develop the most important features of the nation–the Czech language and a sense for a Czech musical and dramatic way of thinking. TIP: There is a small square behind the building which often hosts design markets and other events.

The Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral is the principal church in the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia. The existing structure had its origins as a Roman Catholic church built between 1730 and 1736. In 1942, during World War II, the cathedral was the scene of the last stand of a number of Czech and Slovak patriots who, in Operation Anthropoid, had assassinated Reinhard Heydrich, the Nazi SS Obergruppenführer and General of Police. Karl Fischer von Treuenfeld was in command of the troops that stormed the church on 18 June 1942. After a fierce gun battle, they committed suicide to avoid capture. Presently there is a museum in the church crypt dedicated to them as national heroes.

Parks & Nature

It's a charming small park, well maintained, full of benches (very often occupied by people), rose bushes and with nice view of a church. There is also a small playground for kids. This park is hidden between passages and buildings and somewhat difficult to find, but it worth it ;)

If you are looking for peace and beautiful environment in the middle of Prague where you can relax, then certainly Botanical Garden at Charles Square (precisely Na Slupi street) worth a visit. The best time to visit it is spring when the outdoor exhibition blooms a lot of rhododendrons and azaleas. However, the garden is also interesting for its greenhouses where you can find lots of beautiful plants.
