Traveler advice

Getting around

Mont Tremblant is a pedestrian village.

Pack good footwear.
Don't miss

Gondola ride up the mountain.

Plan at least 1.5 hours to go up the mountain, some time to look around at the top and then time to descend. The views are spectacular!
Customs and culture

Make an effort to say something in French.

Greet restaurant hosts, waiters, hotel clerks, ect.. with some French words like : Bonjour (hello), au revoir (good-bye), merci (thank you). Although almost everyone in the hospitality industry in Mont-Tremblant will speak English, any effort to say a few words in French will be very much appreciated.
Ways to save

Bring your own food and snacks.

Head out to the outskirts to stock up on food items. Buying food in restaurants, cafes, and snack bars add up quickly. Packing a lunch, snacks and drinks will save you a lot during the day.
Book before you go

Book activity tickets ahead of time.

Book activities and make reservations a head of time so you have a better chance to have good times.
What to pack

Bring Comfortable shoes.

Mont Tremblant has a lot of walking. Pack comfortable shoes and clothing. Evenings can get cool, so pack a sweater if you plan to eat out or do any of the evening activities.
Useful phrases

How to say...

Bonjour (Hello) Au revoir (goodbye) S'il vous plait (Please) Merci (thank you) De rien // il n'y a pas de quoi (two ways to say you're welcome) Ou est la toilette? (Where is the bathroom) Est-ce que je peux avoir de l'eau? (May I please have water?) Ou puis-je trouver... ? (Where can I find) Est-ce que je peux avoir une verre de vin? (May I have a glass of wine) Est-ce que je peux avoir la facture s'il vous plait? (May I have the bill please) -- note you can also say Est-ce que je peux avoir l'addition s'il vous plait.
Traveling with kids

Plan your time wisely

The pedestrian village is a busy and crowed place. There is a clown that does balloon animals. Go into the resort in the morning or early afternoon to have a chance to get a balloon for your child. To avoid a long wait for a table with your kids, you may want to plan to eat supper around 5 pm. The restaurants get busy by 6 pm and the lines to get in can get quite long.
