snorkeling

Hard to find parking as the lot gets full very quickly however, once there it provides easy coral snorkeling on the right side of the beach.

Sightseeing

Very cool place to visit you can even take a dip in the river for some refreshing activities. Good walk for everybody. Carries a small fee to get in. Free for locals.

You must go! Home of several observatories, it's a lengthy drive (about 1.5 hours from the condo) and it's usually around 50 degrees during the day. Other than that, it is gorgeous, formidable hiking inside the crater. Best view of Maui is from the sky! Make sure you choose the right day weather-wise as in the clouds it's not as exciting.

Plenty of waterfalls on the way to iconic Hana. Plan a whole day if you want to reach the city of Hana as it is a 3.5 hour drive from the Condo. Most turn around at some point on the road. It's windy and narrow, plenty of hikes, waterfalls on the way. Some hidden beaches also! Do not plan on going all the way around the island as the south West portion of the loop is dirt only, incredibly dangerous. The rental cars company will not cover you if you have an issue on that portion of the road. Instead it is an out and back trip and the road is paved all the way to Hana from the Haiku side (North East side of loop).

Paia is a great old plantation town ( on the way to Hana if you are going to make it there). Few beaches great old school shops downtown and home just to the North, of the biggest waves in the world! The wave event is in the winter only when the currents, winds, etc are favorable for these giant water scoops. In the summer, it is a lot milder.

A somewhat long drive from the Condo (1 hour and change) but Lahaina has a lot to offer. You can see the neighboring island of Molokai which is not possible from the beaches in Kihei. A lot of activities to do there, including a glass submarine! Great coast views on the way there. Lots of restaurants and shops. Just north, horseback riding and ziplines available!

You can walk to this beach! 5 minutes walk! Turn left, cross south Kihei road, and you are there already! If you turn right instead of left on Kihei rd, you will find Cove Park immediately also!!!
