Living amongst the forest and nature means being surrounded by birds singing, squirrels and chipmunks, hearing the coyotes howl at night sometimes, flora and fauna only seen in this area, the turquoise waters of Georgian Bay, escarpment cliffs, great kayaking, swimming in both Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, butterflies, gardens and lots of art in our studio.

I am an artist, painting mostly in watercolour and oils but also work in clay. My studio is here in the woods where I live with my artist-husband and 2 small dogs. We love nature and the environment and work hard to take care of it. We have solar here and an organic garden.
We built Chickadee Cabin 8 years ago so others could share this beautiful area we live in. I also teach art classes here in my studio and I am an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour.
We love good food, sharing it with friends and family, music, and kayaking.
Each summer we host young travellers from around the world who are interested in art and nature. We have made many friends thru this program and have hosted them for 8 years. We also love to travel and see new places.
As a guest at Chickadee Cabin, you will stay in our cozy art-filled cabin, with warm quilts and a beautiful view into the woods. There are many birds and wildlife here. We are just 3 km from Georgian Bay where the beautiful turquoise waters and limestone cliffs make this one of the most beautiful areas in Ontario. You can hike the Bruce Trail and visit the National Parks here. Scuba diving is famous in Tobermory, only 25 min from us. Your stay in the cabin is private but if you need anything we are a short walk thru the woods to our home to help you. We have wireless available on our front porch or you can sit in the beautiful gardens.
We try to live a kind life here and hope others will come and enjoy this natural area as much as we do.
We welcome all travellers.
