Welcome to Foggy Mountain BnB, where your beautiful one room self catering studio cottage above French Beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island awaits you. Stunning views of the ocean on this three acre property and close proximity to a plethora of outdoor activities will keep you entranced during your stay.

Take a short walk to French Beach or enjoy the scenic walk to Priest Cabin Park on the mountain behind the house for incredible views of the Juan De Fuca Strait. The local region offers more than its natural beauty. Experience local dining pleasures, as well as discovering the creative talents of various artists from the Sooke and Port Renfrew areas.

Your studio cottage is a compact 240 sq foot space which is beside the main house but completely detached from the main house. You will be sleeping on a very comfortable queen size bed and your modern bathroom with tub / shower is fully equipped with towels, cloths, soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Amenities include: Compact Fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, hairdryer, kettle, wireless internet connection, outside patio area,bbq, fire pit( subject to local open fire bans),and vehicle parking.
There is no range or hotplate in the cottage.

Last but not least check out the blacksmith on the property. Feel free to watch some traditional blacksmithing being done or look through the on site art gallery. All metal work on the property has been done by the on site blacksmiths. Our blacksmiths shop and gallery are open to the public from 11-4 ,so there may be other visitors on the property during these hours viewing the forge and gallery. The Blacksmith starts his day at 9:00 so there is a potential for noise.

We love where we live, its the best place for hiking, or relaxing and watching the eagles soar, perhaps spotting bear, or whales in the strait .. Watch the ships go by while enjoying the water and mountain views.
We are however rural and 18 minutes from shopping so make sure you stock up with food , fuel etc. for your stay.There are 2 cafes within 6 km, 1 restaurant . Stoked Pizza will be closed January 1 until April 1.

On the 3.5 acre property you will find the Gilbertson family. Marty, Ava, and many furry critters who are also part of the family. Marty and Ava live in the main house next to the private BnB cottage . Marty is the onsite blacksmith working out of their studio and it is very common that someone is always around the property.

It needs to be mentioned that Marty is a volunteer firefighter for the municipality with Marty being the chief. Please bare this in mind as he is are on call 24/7 and may have to leave at any time in case of an emergency.

Justin an avid traveler as has been around the world five times now visiting over 70 countries on every populated continent over the last ten years. He knows what it's like to linger for a comfortable night on the road so we have tried to provide you with just that.
