Experience the NZ wildlife from this amazing straw bale eco home set in
native bush with awesome mountain, river and sea views. Close to everything but a super quite retreat setting in Te Manawa Ecovillage. Ideally situated between Kaiteriteri beach (20min) and Kahurangi NP (20min). Nelson lakes 1hour.
Swimming in Mot.river at doorstep.

The space
This comfortable eco home is centered around a big deck with great views and a japanese garden/barbeque area on the west side. The house is located within an eco village and runs on hydro and solar power. The house is very quite and peaceful except you may get "disturbed" by a Weka, Moorpork or even a Kea. (Native birds of NZ).
The house is nice and warm with a woodstove. The bathroom has a composting toilet.
Watch the sun or moonrise over D'Urville Island from the deck or living room.

Where you’ll be

Motueka Valley, Tasman, New Zealand

Well we have a fantastic bunch of neighbours here at Te Manawa Ecovillage. Motueka town is close enough (10min)with great restaurants, cinema and shops, as well as beaches and Abel Tasman and Kaurangi National park. (Mount Arthur car park). The Valley itself is a beautiful place to visit. Lots of fresh river swimming holes and trout fishing opportunities. Mountain bike and running track everywhere in the vicinity. You can walk to the top of Mount Campbell from our property. The beautiful , must see, Nelson Lakes is only 1 hour drive away and another 40min takes you to our local "Rainbow" ski area.
