Enhanced Clean
This Host committed to Airbnb's 5-step enhanced cleaning process.
This classic New York style loft apartment comprises the entire top floor of an 1890's brick warehouse in Southwest Baltimore and is the owner's home when he's in town. It is located in an eclectic, walkable neighborhood with easy access to downtown.

The loft is also available for film and photo shoots even when not listed as available for overnight rentals - please enquire for details.

The space
A classic artist's loft - 2200sqft of open space on the top floor of a handsome 1890's brick building, with panoramic views over the city of Baltimore. Featured in the October 2016 issue of Baltimore Magazine.

This light-filled loft combines basic amenities (such as a kitchen out of the 1980's) with luxurious touches (seating by Arne Jacobson and a fantastically comfortable king-sized bed by B&B Italia).

Amenities include:

High speed wireless internet
King sized bed
Two sofas suitable for sleeping with fresh linens
Washer/dryer in unit
Basic but fully equipped kitchen
Central heating and air conditioning
Plentiful free parking in the area

The loft is located directly across from Hollins Market, the oldest public market building in Baltimore. The award-winning Zella's Pizza is down the street, and nearby is the Smithsonian B&O Railway museum which celebrates the railway which pioneered the growth of this area in the 19th century.

Where you’ll be

Baltimore, Maryland, United States

The Hollins Market neighborhood is eclectic, mixed-income, somewhat edgy, and definitely not for everyone, but has a great sense of community and many of those who live here passionately love it.

I've spent a large part of the last 20 years travelling, and I'm presently trying to combine a bit of professional responsibility with the desire to see more of the world. I'm now trying to slow down the pace of my travels, and spend quality time absorbing life in some of the more interesting, diverse, and evolving urban neighbourhoods in the world. Some of my main interests are art, architecture, and good food. I like to discover small local businesses that still have a sense of place and have pride in what they do. Some of my favourite cities at the moment are Shanghai, New York, Buenos Aires, and Berlin, the tastiest food I've ever eaten came from the hawker stalls of Penang, Malaysia, and some of my favourite off the beaten path getaways are Ilha de Mocambique, Flores, Indonesia, and Inle Lake, Burma. I'm a sucker for cobblestone streets and crumbling old historic buildings, and will rarely turn down a cafe con leche and the chance to people watch. I'm currently living in a city with some serious issues but also untapped potential, and find it shameful that indifferent governance and bad urban policies can have such a negative impact on so many people's lives. If you ever visit here I hope to show you some of its charms, and I look forward to seeing the unique local attractions of wherever you may live.

During your stay

I will likely be out of the country when the loft is listed for rent, but all of the other residents of the building (six units) are very sociable and you'll be left in good hands.
