Welcome! Ideally situated between Dharamshala & Mcleod, this large studio offers the perfect location & western amenities for visiting the area. It's on a quiet nook of the mountain with a restaurant on the bottom floor, a general store, Drs office & great coffee around the corner. You'll be surrounded by good people, incredible views, great food delivered to your door, & landlord close by. The Dalai Lama's residence is a 10 minute walk & you are a 5 minute taxi ride to each area. Enjoy!

The space
This large studio was recently built and comes complete with a private balcony, 5G Wifi, a comfortable Queen size bed, workspace, guest bed, kitchen table, chairs, kitchenette, wardrobe, and a western bathroom and amenities. Downstairs is a wonderful restaurant that serves Indian, Nepali, and Tibetan food which they will deliver to your room whenever you want. The area is safe, quiet, and the landlord lives in the building next door in case you need anything.

* please note the cleaning fee is for paying the cleaners before and after your stay. If you would like the room cleaned during your stay you must pay for it separately *

The Space -
The Studio is large (8m x 8m), clean, filled with plants, Tibetan prayer flags, incense, and is overall very warm and comfortable. As a lawyer and researcher I have added Western amenities in order to live and work comfortably. It has 3 big windows on 2 sides which provide a lot of natural light and beautiful views of the mountain range and the valley. There is a full kitchen setup with water filter, a large desk for working/studying, a large wardrobe for your clothes, a safe for valuable items, an alter and a mirror, as well as several side tables and a small guest bed which can also be used as a couch. Quality red and white curtains are on each window for privacy and each door has hooks for hanging your shirts and jackets.

Work Space - The Work Space is ideal. The desk sits in front of the window so you can look out at the mountain range while you work. It comes with a dual monitor, a book stand, a printer that is setup on the wifi, a banker's lamp, a small library of books, office supplies (pens, paper, paper clips, stapler), a marker board. Next to the desk is the guest bed/couch which you can use for reading, napping, etc.

Private Balcony - Beautiful views overlooking the Himalayan mountains. The balcony comes with a table and chairs, lovely plants, and is decorated with a windchime. You'll enjoy starting your day sitting on the balcony sipping your coffee.

The Bed Area - The Queen size bed is comfortable and comes with a side table, slippers, and extra pillows and sheets.

The Kitchenette - Comes with a water filter, blender, tea kettle, french press, storage space, cooking basic (olive oil, mustard oil, salt, pepper, et.c) dark marble countertops, gas stove top, fridge, pots and pans for cooking, plates, cups, and silverware. There is also a wooden kitchen table and chairs for eating and relaxing.

The Bathroom - Comes with a western toilet and shower. The hot water tank is 15 liters and we provide shampoo and extra towels for you.

The Wardrobe - It is a large 6-door wardrobe with a lot of storage space inside and on top. Inside the bottom is a safe that is bolted into the bottom for keeping valuables safe.

Where you’ll be

Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India

The people in the neighborhood are very warm, diverse, and helpful. Many are young adult students studying music at the academy above the cafe or temporary travelers, so there is an open and artsy energy. It has everything you need within walking distance: A western-style cafe with great food, views, and coffee, a Doctor's office, dentist, motorcycle rental shop, two general stores and two restaurants directly beneath the flat. It is on the main road so grabbing a taxi is no problem or the restaurant can call one for you.

McLeod is just up the hill and is where the Dalai Lama's Residence and Temple are and where the majority of the Tibetan community live. Just down the hill is the CTA (Tibetan Gov't in Exile) and Dharamshala, where you'll find the bigger bustling city.

Hi, I'm Peter! I am a lawyer, mediator, field researcher, and Super Host. I am also Buddhist, love reading (especially greek literature), motorcycle riding, and am a civil war buff. Traveling and meeting people from all over the world--and hearing their stories--is a passion of mine. I especially love offering people a home away from home :)

I was born in Wisconsin, USA (yes I'm a Packers fan) and grew up working on an exotic animal farm. I moved to India for 7 months when I was 16, and became interested in Asian philosophy. I still practice meditation daily, and have a love, interest, and openness for other religions and culture. My general goal is to be achieve perspective and live without judging.
