Where you’ll be

Pender Island, British Columbia, Canada

Pender Island is one of the Southern Gulf Islands on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Pender Island lies between Vancouver and Victoria, BC.

Pender offers the most public beach access points of any of the Gulf Islands and actually consists of two islands, North Pender and South Pender, which are separated by a narrow canal connected by a one-lane bridge. We are on South Pender.

We enjoy a sub-Mediterranean climate, verdant farmland, rolling hills, areas of mossy rain forest, several lakes, some small mountains, and many quiet coves and beaches.

Pender is a popular destination for cycling, fishing, hiking, boating, sailing, scuba diving and other outdoor pursuits. We also have a 9-hole golf course as well as a 27-hole disc golf course (frisbee golf).

We have numerous art galleries, shops, and restaurants and an active community which comes together for local events, including the Fall Fair (late August) and the Lantern Festival (New Year's Eve). On Saturday mornings during the summer, the Farmer’s Market at the Community Hall offers local produce, hand-made crafts, and entertainment.
