The space
SunChaser is on a barrier island in the town of Emerald Isle NC. The area is also known as the Southern Outer Banks and The Crystal Coast. Our home is one of the few cottages on the island with both ocean and sound views; it has the easiest access to the beach of any 2nd row house on the island! Cool, fun, and VERY authentic beach cottage. Mix of 50 year old locally sourced, hand milled pine floors, modern kitchen and electronics, and fun bright colors. Built by one of the owner's cousins in 1968. This is a second home and place of solitude for our family and yours!! Pick up the 10+ mile bike trail adjacent to our property and enjoy on the bikes we provide or just spend your days strolling the beautiful NC beaches! SunChaser is ready for you! You'll arrive to a welcome pack, cool drinks in the fridge, beds freshly made, and all the essentials laid out and ready for you!

It's the perfect picture of a quiet NC beach....if you love the beach and long for peace and quiet this place is for you! This area is all single family homes, nice people, and very quiet - no hotels or condos within a half mile! We've owned the place for more than about 15 years and love it there. My family has had a place there for 40 years and has lived in the area for 250 years. Nice neighbors, great restaurants (including the legendary Big Oak Drive In) just a few minutes away in either direction, a pizza/craft brew restaurant a short mile away, friendly people. Local fun things to do include a nice putt putt facility, skate park, etc all within a few minutes drive. In area once bounded to the east by a fishing village (Morehead) and to the west by a whaling village (Swansboro/Bear Island). It was under the rule of Lord Tryon (visit his palace 45 min away) until the American Revolution. And of course being watched by Blackbeard the pirate as he trolled this area around to Beaufort and surrounding islands. Nearby (1 mile away) Salter Path - known as THE seafood destination since the 1950's - was settled in the early 1800's and folks made their way to Emerald Isle in the early 1960's. Enjoy our fun cottage, beautiful beaches, nearby historic sites / recreation, and great southern hospitality everywhere you go. Privacy, history, fun, and convenience to make your next unforgettable experience!

Favorite AirBNB Hosting: Families from outside NC who have never experienced the NC beach. They think going to the beach means pushing through crowds to set a place for your towel, only to find you have no spot on the beach when the tide comes in! Those folks are shocked to visit our beach to find nice people, privacy, and a beach they have all to themselves for 10 months of the year. Solitude, serenity, and peace....all here.
