The space
This apartment is hosted, cleaned and cared for by Amelia, who is the owner/occupant of this historic building, and her adult daughter who also lives in the building. The airbnb apartment (#2) is on the first floor, daughter lives in #1, and Amelia lives on the second floor in #3. This is a small personal enterprise, not a corporate hosted airbnb situation.

The apartment is advertised as no pets, however I do foster a cat in my apartment on the second floor. All apartments do have their own separate HVAC. However, if you are super sensitive to felines perhaps this is not the best choice.

A washer and dryer is available, in the cerment/stone basement, for guests who stay 5 days or more.

Where you’ll be

Frankfort, Kentucky, United States

Frankfort is right off I-64. 45 miles west on I-64 takes you to Louisville, 30 miles east on I-64 bring you to Lexington, 85 miles north to Cincinnati. Many small quaint towns are within a 30 minute radius.
My neighborhood is a historical district, and is nestled between the beautiful gardens and grounds of the state capitol and the Kentucky river and downtown Frankfort. All these are within a half mile or less walking distance. Old houses, old trees, generous yards and quiet laid back atmosphere.
We have a new bakery a few blocks away with extraordinary european baked breads, pastries and coffee. Downtown area has restaurants, bars and pubs, a city museum and a history museum. Within walking distance (assuming you are willing to walk half a mile or so) is Riverwalk, kayaking, and a hiking trail. If you are willing to get in your car, options for scenic hiking, distilleries, multiply.
