Sitting on the lanai, watching and listening to the ocean waves, sipping a cool drink is one of our favorite things in the world. Of course, the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii, with all it has to offer is the perfect place!

The space
Our condo is the first building from the ocean, on the second floor. This gives you a beautiful view form the liana, where you can hear the waves and smell the ocean air! The condo is one bedroom, with a king size bed & a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room ( there is a egg crate foam mattress to make this a bit more comfortable). The kitchen is complete with everything you'll need .... stove, microwave, refrigerator and ice maker, all cooking utensils, plastic ware for the pool & BBQ area.... plus there are towels, linens, washer & dryer, fans, air conditioning, cable TV, new high speed wifi, phone for local calls, and internet.

Our condo is located in the Kona Makai complex, on the popular and famous Alii Drive right outside of downtown Kona. Our complex is quiet, although there is always activity on the ocean to watch... cruise ships, snorkel boats, sail boats, paddle boarders, whales, dolphins.... it's amazing. However, we just have to walk or drive about a mile north to experience the fun and lively beach town life of Kona. The open air restaurants, the volleyball courts, the shopping, the farmer's market, etc. About a mile or two south and you can enjoy the famous "Magic" or White Sands beach which has everything you need for a great day. This beach is also perfect for boogie boarding and body surfing.

It has always been our dream to build a house and live in the country. In 2001 Jack and our boys started this project, and it continues to evolve today! We have been married for 36 years, and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Our favorite times are when we are all together, watching the "cousins" play. All of them live in the Portland area so we consider ourselves very lucky!
