Yelapa is a small beach town that can only be reached by boat. It is a true adventurers paradise as it remains an escape from the norm and provides an opportunity to experience an authentic Mexican village with all of the comforts of Home.

I have been returning to Yelapa for over 40 years and my wife Grace & I have been building & renting our homes in Yelapa for nearly 15 years. I now work alongside my daughter Kylie to ensure that our guests continue to have the best experience possible!

The space

Casa Joanie is the top apartment; a modern, bright, and spacious 2 bedroom unit with A/C and HIGH SPEED internet. The Master Bedroom boasts a large King bed and lots of storage space. The second bedroom is cozier with a Queen sized bed. You can enjoy a fully functioning and furnished kitchen for quiet meals in or to prepare some snacks before heading out on an adventure.

The space is located in the village, next to Cafe Eclipse & is a short walk up from the pier. Being centrally located means you have the convenience of only a 10 minutes walk to the big beach, and about a 7 minutes walk to the town’s waterfall. You are only a 2 minutes walk to the most generous bartender in town and a wonderful little grocery store that will have all of your basic needs (as well as Gloria’s delicious pie’s). As mentioned, the roads are cobblestone and the terrain is quite mountainous so bring your walking shoes!

For your comfort we provide purified water, snorkeling gear, and beach towels & blankets.

I have been returning to Yelapa for over 38 years because of the tranquility of its jungle & beaches and the absence of cars and buses.

Grace and I decided to build our first home, Casa Grace about 11 years ago then built Casa Joanie a few years later. Everything must be brought in by boat so it's been quite an ongoing adventure that we enjoy so much.

What is especially enchanting about Yelapa are the people and that it is an authentic Mexican village with children playing everywhere. It doesn't hurt that the restaurants just get better all the time & are so affordable. It is so easy there to make lasting friends both Yelapan and N. American.

We work very hard to make our casas the best and pride ourselves on how we work with our guests to ensure they have the best vacation possible.
