This cozy and elegant beachfront cottage is nestled in the trees right on Chesterman's Beach. You can hear the ocean while in bed and watch magnificent pacific sunsets from your deck chair. There is a perfect balance between privacy and direct views to the beach and water. Please note that between april 13-20th 2020 - there will be a few days of roof repair and I am offering 50% discounts for stays.

The space
Sleep to the sounds of the ocean waves, wake to the smell of old growth forest and the ability to step right onto the stunning Chesterman beach that will give you hours of exploring pleasure. It has Canada's best surfing and is rimmed in dramatic Mountains.
The cottage combines all the elements of having the inspiring expanse of shifting light, and horizon, and dramatic sunsets, with being cozy and embracing.

The cottage ideally takes 2-4 people. There is an extra suite downstairs with another bedroom, memory foam pull out sofa and full bath, which can be rented additionally, it allows families or couples to travel together, while having private space to retreat to, or to send the kids downstairs etc... The photos show a dining table for 4 but it has expanded to be able to fit 6. There are also 3 window seats which are really fun for kids to sleep in. it makes them feel like they are in a tree house.

Some like to rent the additional suite as a way to secure your complete privacy. The design however is such that the downstairs suite gains access to the beach through the side of the property rather than walking in front of the deck, so as to not compromise your romantic sensibility (or ability to skinny dip in the hot tub). There are no current pictures quite yet, but the deck has been expanded and there is a hot tub with an ocean view:)
As per the by-laws of Tofino, there is also a caretaker on site downstairs.
There is a comfortable bed with a pillow topper, down pillows and down comforter. The pull out sofa is also a comfortable queen bed. It is firm (not too firm:) rather than being a lumpy spring pull out.

You can make a fire right on the beach, walk across the sand to the famous Wikininnish Inn to enjoy their world class dinning or indulge yourself at the Ancient cedars Spa.

There are great board games, and comfy reading chairs where you can watch the bald eagles and whales. There are few spots right on the beach as romantic as Herons Perch. We hope to make your stay a treasure of a memory.

Herons Perch is perfectly located right on Chestermans Beach, steps from world class surfing. It is absolutely perfect walking, beach dogs, sunsets, stargazing and beach fires. Its a short walk to the local shops for coffee/grocerys/ tacofino/surf lessons and Tofino village shops are just a 5 minute drive away with tons more restaurants, crafts, art, surf shops, good food and plenty of locals to enjoy stories with. Cox Bay is 5 minutes away, and Long Beach 10 minutes away. So much to do outside or simply relax at the cottage, kick back and watch some of the most exquisite sunset and the never ending stream of nature passing .

During your stay

The Cottage has incredible privacy. You can see the neighbors through the trees and there are people walking along the beach access path. You can hear them occasionally, but not see them. Over the hedge you can see the ocean and the surfers riding waves and the dogs chasing birds, but never is there a sense of exposure. There is the goldilock balance of view of the ocean and the sunset and yet not having to watch everyone who is walking on the beach.
