The space
Quietly tucked away in a gated courtyard setting, the cottage, although tiny has everything required for a comfortable stay. A well equipped kitchen with a 4 burner gas range, and lots of storage. Full size bed artfully hidden behind the dining island which also accommodates the swivel TV that can be viewed from the bed or the couch. An on demand water heater provides endless hot water, French doors lead to the covered deck with seating for 2 and the front patio has seating for 4. The WiFi is strong, TV is smart and parking is off street. If you have ever wanted to try tiny house living, here’s your opportunity.

Guest access
The cottage is entirely it’s own entity with no shared space. The washer and dryer are next door in a shared utility room.

The Vardo and the Guest House were inspired by many years of traveling and living in different parts of the world with a backpack or in a camper van. The Guest House was inspired by the bamboo bungalows of Bali and Thailand, the Vardo by the gypsy caravans of Europe. As a designer/builder I love the challenge of taking a small space and optimizing its potential. Medina and I met in Argentina, fell in love in France and she has traded in her job as a human rights lawyer in London to move to Portland and now works for a non profit to help the homeless. We travel as often as possible but not as much as we would like.
