The space
Welcome to Green Cabin. Get away from it all in a comfortable, rustic, “summer camp” style cabin with modern luxuries. Houses up to 16 guests. It's the joy of camp combined with comfort and amenities for adults and kids alike.

Has two sleeping rooms each with eight bunk beds. Each room has heating and air-conditioning and its own bathroom with two sinks, a toilet and a shower. Large windows in the adjoining lobby area allow great views and natural lighting. The cabin is complete with a small kitchen. Be sure to find out about our outdoor amenities and activities!

Many come for the serene, spiritual atmosphere and others come to take part in our outdoor adventures.

Linens, cooking and eating utensils, coffee and coffee pot, grilling utensils and charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit with firewood (bring your own matches), extra stacking chairs, and more!

This is a non-profit summer camp location.

There are four small cabins that each house up to 16 guests. Another building houses four rooms of 8 sharing a lobby and an apartment that houses 2-6 people. You’ll fall in love with all of the natural beauty of the lake and flint hills landscape. It's a wonderful place to hike, relax, play and unwind.

Your contributions aid in continuing our camp operations and programming for summer youth camps, and retreats for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Where you’ll be

Council Grove, Kansas, United States

The neighborhood consists of deer, birds, fish and other critters. How can we complain about that?! This is a beautiful country setting right in the middle of Council Grove Reservoir in the heart of the Kansas Flint Hills. Our cabins are spaced so that, even if there are other guests, you’ll have plenty of space and a feeling of seclusion. You can barely hear the highway.

23 minutes down the gravel road you’ll find the historical town of Council Grove – which has numerous historic landmarks to explore, tasty local cuisine, 2 disc golf courses, public pool, Rec Center, Life Exercise center, shopping and plenty of trails and the River Walk – just to name a few. They have a few fast food places and local diners, as well as a local bar. Gas stations, grocery store, hardware store, and mechanic are all just as you pull into town.

For more to do, Emporia and Manhattan are only 45 minutes away.

During your stay

As host and director of the camp, I live in a house on the grounds. During your stay, either I or one of our staff (who live only a few miles away) will be on call to assist you with anything you might need. I’m very easy going and enjoy getting to know the interesting people that pass through here. Though I generally keep to myself so you can enjoy taking in the sights, don’t hesitate to say “hello!” or ask about our camp. I’d be happy to facilitate any activity for your group with enough prior notice.
