Welcome to THE BURROW. A luxury bohemian inspired outdoor accommodation located in Mineville, NS. This 5 meter cotton canvas bell tent is the perfect getaway for a couple / couple of friends. Nestled in a quiet corner of our 40 acre property here at Owl & Otter and set amongst the ferns, wildflowers, ponds, streams and lake trails. 25 km from downtown Halifax, 12 min from Cole Harbour and an 8 min drive to Lawrencetown beach.
Upon arrival you will greeted by a gift basket of drinks and goodies.

The space
This beautiful 210 sq foot cotton canvas bell tent has 9'10 feet of head space in the middle, a 5' foot high opening screened door and four 1/2 moon screened windows. Fully furnished and equipped everything you need. Just bring a cooler (extra ice provided on request), food, drinks and personal items. While there is Wifi available, it can be spotty at times so don't relay on it for streaming etc...

- Queen bed with duvet and 100% cotton bedding, four pillows, hand knit merino accent pillows and throw blanket.
- electric blanket for cool evenings.

- Side tables, lamps and storage baskets for personal items.

- bath, hand and face towels
- 2 pairs of slippers (for you to keep)
- 2 bathrobes (to use but not to keep)

Kitchenette area featuring:
- Electrical outlet for kitchen appliances and device charging.
- 3 in one electric cooking unit
(coffee maker, toaster oven and griddle)
- Electric Kettle, french press and tea pot.
- Cooking utensils, mixing bowls, serving dishes etc...
- cutlery and dining dishes.
- Drinking water dispenser. (fresh water provided daily)
- Dish towels, washing up basin

Outside The Burrow you'll find:
- propane table top bbq
- small dining table
- two wood lounge chairs
- fire pit (fire wood provided)
- Solar lights

The Burrow features a private outdoor washroom 100 feet from the tent. This washroom is for private use of The Burrow guests only and features an outhouse/port a potty, propane hot water shower and water spigot for dish washing etc...

Guests of the Burrow have use of all common spaces here at our rural property. Including the field and forest trails, pond and meditation deck at the lake edge.
The property is located near Lawrencetown Lake, which is as estuary. Due to the nature of the salt water the lake is full of oyster shells which are extremely sharp. We highly advise the use of water shoes for all lane activities.

Hi, I'm Emily a 42 yr old mother to 3 kids age 15, 12 and 9. I am a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and have been working in the textile industry for the past 22 years. My husband, who works in music production, and I love to travel and we love to show our children the world.
When not travelling we enjoy renting out our vacation house/event space “Owl & Otter”, our beloved Boathouse and our glamping tent “The Burrow”. All located near our home in beautiful Mineville, Nova Scotia.

During your stay

The Burrow sits on our beautiful 40 acres property here is Mineville that is a combination of forest and fields. As well as your luxury tent the property consists of the Owl & Otter - our 3000 sq foot vacation, retreat and event rental, two private residences (ours) and two studios (my husbands any my own). While this is a shared property we all highly value our privacy. You may see us walking by from time to time, so feel free to say hello, or ignore us, our feeling won't be hurt. If you need to reach us for any reason, we are close by and will be available throughout your stay.

ATTENTION: We are dog and cat owners and encourage guests to bring their pets along to enjoy their time away. This being said, our two big beautiful and friendly Goldendoodles, Moon and Dot, will most likely pay you at least one visit during you stay. If you are not ok with this then please reconsider booking, as this may not be the place for you.
