Where you’ll be

Roundhay, England, United Kingdom

Roundhay is a lovely leafy residential suburb in the North East of Leeds (approximately 3 miles from Leeds city centre). Easy commute to Leeds city centre and other surrounding areas. There is a nice little children’s playground that is just a couple of minutes walk away.

Roundhay Park, one of the largest city parks in Europe, is less than 20 min walk away. It boasts 700 acres of park, two lakes, various woodland trails, Lakeside Cafe, The Mansion restaurant, ice cream outlets, multiple playgrounds, sports fields, various speciality gardens, a skate park, outside gym equipment, tennis courts, and even a small art gallery. It is often host to major events such as Ed Sheeran and family fun festivals.

Tropical World next to the park is one of the most well-loved family attractions in Leeds, where you can meet tropical creatures such as butterflies, bats, snakes and a gorgeous family of meerkats with babies. It is a great place for kids to go on a rainy or cold day given the warm temperature inside. It contains greenhouses filled with UK's largest tropical plant and animal collections outside of Kew Gardens. It certainly provides an unforgettable journey through rainforest, mangroves and desert.

Roundhay Park golf course is a classic nine hole course in mature wooded parkland, part of the Roundhay Park Estate. The course is 5322 yards with a par of 70.

We are 15 minutes drive from Harewood House which boasts a beautiful 18th Century treasure House, a fine art collection, exhibitions of contemporary art, a rare Bird Garden, Farm Experiences and over 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore.

Gledhow Valley Woods (5 minutes walk from the house) is a ribbon of woodland and grassland running about 1.5 km through a suburban area of north Leeds. The valley is entirely surrounded by housing and the busy Gledhow Valley Road runs through its centre. A small stream called Gledhow Beck flows along the valley and empties into Gledhow Lake.

The property is within access of local facilities on Lidgett Lane, and within convenient access of more extensive amenities on Oakwood Parade, Street Lane, Moortown Corner and the cosmopolitan 'village' of Chapel Allerton where there are a wide range of shops, popular restaurants, cafe bars and designer boutiques and supermarkets.

We are also very well positioned for easy trips into Leeds city centre for all the fantastic attractions, shopping, dining, drinking, sporting and nightlife experiences. First Direct Arena, O2 Academy, Trinity Leeds shopping complex, Victoria Gates are all within easy reach to name a few. On the south bank of the River Aire, the Royal Armouries houses the national collection of arms and artillery. A short river taxi will take you to Leeds train station. Across the river, the redeveloped industrial area around Call Lane is famed for bars and live music venues. Leeds Kirkgate Market features hundreds of indoor and outdoor stalls.

The house would also provide a suitable location for walking holidays with easy access to the North Leeds trails.
