Tranquil getaway is a naturalists dream. Spacious outdoor areas perfect for viewing the amazing sunsets. 1400 ft of waterfront surrounding the unique cottage. Birders and fishermen alike will enjoy the 23 acre marsh and forest as a destination and a launchpad for trips. Only 5 min to Harkers Island boat ramp. Visit Cape Lookout and see wild horses at Shackleford Banks. Enjoy Downeast Culture in local shops and restaurants or drive 15 min to Beaufort for shops or 25 min to go to Atlantic Beach.

The space
The house is at the end of a ¼ mile driveway with only 1 neighbor across the Marsh. It is very private and secluded but still has good access to local sites. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with typical furnishings you would find in a fishing cottage. We do have a smart TV that has an antenna but it is not connected to Internet because the Internet is not available here. We usually use our phone or simply unplug for a while. Together, this makes for a nice place to unwind and focus on friends and family or have a space for solitude.

Where you’ll be

Beaufort, North Carolina, United States

This place represents a relic of Down East culture where self reliance and independence are central to life. You can enjoy life without anyone bothering you for a while or you can dive into the local fishing and hunting culture. There are lots of great things to do, but it is quite rural and that is why we love it.
