Entire studio apartment with full kitchen on the garden level of our home. Across the street from Washington Park and SUNY Albany downtown campus. Within walking distance of Empire Plaza, Capitol, Albany Med, Saint Rose, and Downtown. Beautiful 10min walk to center square neighborhood’s shops and restaurants. Plenty of free on street parking available. Separate entrance for apartment, so we don’t have to interact unless you want to. We are, however, available for anything you may need.

The space
Please keep in mind when booking that the studio is in the basement of our home and we take the utmost care to limit the sound of feet and paws in the morning. For most guests this has not been an issue, but understand this may be considered a deal breaker for some light sleepers. We greatly appreciate your consideration when booking!

Our house is a former carriage house built around early 1900’s. The brickwork throughout is original and we have worked hard to maintain the building's beauty and class to honor its history. Of note, the fireplace is original, but has been bricked up and is no longer functional. Please do not try to start a fire in it, as it will not go well.

We have a golden retriever that uses the backyard to do his business. He is a good boy and loves everyone. If he happens to see you through the back door, he may stare at you or come up and say hi through the window. Feel free to ignore him.

The studio is roughly 600 sq ft and comfortably sleeps 3 (4 with a blowup mattress). Sheets, a mattress topper for the single bed, and extra towels can be found in the bedroom closet and dresser.

A dedicated 40 gallon hot water heater ensures plenty of hot water for your group. Safety is paramount, so we have installed security cameras on the front and rear of the house, as well as a video doorbell. You'll also find a first aid kit in the bathroom, smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors, and a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink.

The thermostat to the right of the front door controls the two baseboard heaters in the living room. Separate baseboard heaters in the bedroom and bathroom are independently controlled by knobs on the units. During the winter months, please make sure to turn off the heaters and set the thermostat to 70 before you depart.

Accidents happen, so we have provided the tools to clean up any messes that occur. Cleaning materials can be found under the kitchen sink and a Swiffer and broom are hanging up just outside the kitchen.

We will always try to keep the Studio stocked with K-Cups and ground coffee for the Keurig. If you choose to brew a pot of coffee, there is a reusable and washable filter in the basket, so no need for paper filters. If you don't like the selection of pods, let us know and we will find something you like.

If you forget anything for your trip, such as toothpaste or shampoo, we are happy to share or run and pick up whatever you need.

Since we live right upstairs, we are readily available to you should you need anything, but aside from the possible bump in when coming or going where we’ll say hi, we allow guests their privacy during their stay.
