Through many years as a cinematographer, I have been so lucky to have traveled a lot, also in Northern Norway. Our northern countryside has always been fascinated by me and I have long had a dream of swimming with orcas in the Tyssfjord. A dream that also made on December 30, 2006, as a birthday present from my girlfriend Agnete, and my daughter Frida. The scenery, the nature experiences,
and the people have given me last “man.“ Summer 2007, Agnete and I were at Skrova in connection with Agnete as a style photographer going to have a photo exhibition at the Gallery Photography Bridge in Skrova, and we had visited the island on several occasions. We did not go with any concrete plans to get us somewhere in Lofoten, although occasionally we looked a little extra long for some old houses. Then I sat there on the jetty on a summer evening with my good friend Ole Bjørn Johnsen, and talked about a couple of the houses on Skrova that were for sale. Ole Bjørn thought it was all a hopeless dream, and said ironic lightly: “Also, can you please create a cabin out of that oil tank at high altitudes?“ There was nothing more talking about cabins that night. I'm sure Ole Bjørn wasn't quite surprised when he learned at a later date that I had taken the challenge.
