Where you’ll be

Haliburton, Ontario, Canada

Reflection B&B is on a 13 acre parcel of land with 2 ponds, trails, a fire pit and lots of places to relax. Read the paper on your deck, watch the hummingbirds sip nectar from the flowers just a few feet away. Count some of the 40 goldfish in the big and little pond. Maybe, if you're lucky and up early, you might catch sight of a moose or deer drinking from the pond.

Further afield, there are literally hundreds of lakes, rivers, waterfalls and streams to see in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands. There are places to hike, swim, walk, shop or picnic. You can visit farmers' markets, breweries, artists studios, or take in an event. Take a course at Fleming School of Art + Design, or golf at one of the excellent courses nearby. In winter take a dogsledding adventure, ski or snowshoe. Any time of year , experience fine dining or quirky cafes, galleries, museums and more.

There are trails everywhere! You can rent a kayak and paddle a chain of lakes. Visit the Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre, with the opportunity to view a wild wolf pack from behind a one way glass wall. Sir Sam's Ski / Ride offers winter skiing and summer mountain biking (you and your bike take the chairlift up to the top of the hill)!

Photographers will love every turn in the road. So much to see and do!

I grew up in the Haliburton Highlands, have lived in other parts of Canada, and now am back home. My family were pioneers here, so I have stories galore about the history of the county. As the executive director of a non profit organization in Haliburton, I have a busy job that is interesting, fast-paced and incredibly rewarding. My office is just a few minutes away and when not home I am accessible by phone. I love, love, love meeting people through the B&B. Honestly, people have come to Reflection from all over the world -- one couple came from the Cayman Islands for a long weekend getaway! It's my goal for guests to feel the sense of relaxation and sheer pleasure that I feel when I come home at night. It's really an oasis here. I have an Australian Shepherd called Tegan. She's a great pup and very social. She is not allowed in the B&B suite, but you can always pay her a visit. :)
