We like to think that we have the best of both worlds here at Yellowoods! The benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes, restaurants, bicycles trails, farmers markets, golf courses and schools. Only 2kms off the N3, we are easily accessible and very easy to find. We are a working farm, so there will be ‘farm noise’ about and general day-to-day goings on! Cottage has braai facilities. WiFi and full DSTV included.

The space
All of our cottages have full DSTV, Braai facilities, patio/garden and full kitchen (Willoughby’s) or kitchenettes (The Sheep Shed, the Goat House and Pool Cottage).

Apart from the Pool Cottage, we have three other self-catering cottages at Yellowwoods Farm. A two-bedroom cottage (Willoughby’s), and two other 1-bedrooms (The Sheep Shed and the old Goat House), so if you are travelling for a wedding or part of a larger party/family looking for more accommodation then this combination works well.

The original farmhouse dates back to 1896. It was built by Willoughby Methley for his young bride Elizabeth (Elsie) Symons. Willoughby and Elsie had five children who they brought up here at Yellowwoods.

Being in the heart of the Natal Midlands we are perfectly positioned as a ‘home base’ from where you can explore. We can point you in the right direction for bike trails, trail runs, horse riding, vineyards, cafes, golf courses etc, all within a 30 minute radius of us. Michaelhouse and Clifton Schools are 15 minutes away and Midmar Dam and the Nelson Mandela Capture Site Museum are 25 minutes from us.

We moved to South Africa and the Natal Midlands from London 13 years ago. It has been a wonderful family journey. The children are able to have an uncomplicated outdoor childhood, the schools have been incredible and we are able explore and experience this beautiful country. Sarah and I are generally always around should there be anything that you need to know, so please ask away. We have various cottages here at Yellowwoods Farm so we can usually accommodate most requests.

We are generally around, however if we are out you should always be able to reach us on our mobiles (Charlie - 0790768303 + Sarah 0725492424). Alternatively Thuli and Andrew who help us at home are generally always about as well.

If there is anything that we can help with or anything that you are unhappy with, please do contact us whilst you are ‘on site’. It would be awful for you to leave upset or unhappy if it is something that we could possibly have rectified during your stay.
